DO NOT use this map if you plan to use it for any navigation. The road distinctions are inconsistent, the distances on the Haiti side are very unrealiable. I biked from SDO to Jacmel, and could not have been more frustrated with the low quality of this map. In fact, I think the map producers need to pull this from their catalogue until they can generate more accurate information.
I rarely depend 100% on a GPS, especially in developing countries, so I chose this map as a backup and reference. The scale is appropriate and the level of detail useful, even more so on the DR side as their infrastructure is less of a challenge. If you need a paper map for Hispaniola, this is it.
When your cellphone doesn't work and you paid attention in 7th grade Geography, this map is what you want to have in your backpack!
I did not buy this map for a conventional reason, so my opinion may be irrelevant to you. I bought it to glue onto a journal cover. If anyone is looking to buy this map to make something similar, the material is difficult to stick to surfaces with adhesives. However, it is beautiful.I am not sure how it would be for legitimate use!
I am trying to help the Head to Head School near Jacmel in Haiti which had no map of Haiti. I liked your map of Haiti so much I bought 5 more copies to give to the Head to Head School and also other nearby schools in that area.I like the captions or notes of places of special historical interest. I would love to have a map that indicated the land uses (present, and historic.)It would be GREAT to have a map which indicated where the NGO's working in Haiti are located and - in what way. Don't buy this map if you plan to use it for actual navigation in the DR. I love to use maps, so I feel very comfortable navigating with them. Roads are very complicated in the DR, and this map does not have enough detail to get you around. In fact, by following this map, we LOST an entire day of travel.It would look fine as a poster or as a general way to show someone the relative locations of cities and landmarks.
Not bad but there are a number of errors on the map so do not take it as Gospel. (Google Maps is even worse!)
Good map of Haiti but lack detail that I needed for areas outside PAP.
